(b. 7/5/1962, Belgium) Philippe Buchet was born in Juniville in the Ardens. He abandoned his studies and began working in illustration. Artistic director of an agency specialized in advertising and communication comics, he met Sylvain Savoïa, who introduced him to scriptwriter Jean-David Morvan. Together with Savoïa and Morvan, he created the 'Nomad' series at the publishing house Glénat. After two albums in 1994 and 1995, Buchet left the team and Savoïa continued the artwork on his own.
Buchet founded the atelier 510 TTC in 1994, together with Morvan, the artists Savoïa and Tranktat, and the colorists Christian Lerolle and Franck Gureghian. In 1998, he produced the humorous heroic-fantasy one-shot 'La Quête des Réponses' in cooperation with Morvan in the magazine Dragon and the collection Humour de Rire of Delcourt. Also with Jean-David Morvan he started the science-fiction series 'Sillage', of which the first album appeared in February, 1998. The series became one of Delcourt's hit series and Buchet has won a prize for the comic's colouring at the 1998 Solliès comics festival. From 2004, Buchet cooperates as co-scriptwriter on the expansion of the 'Sillage' universe, by launching the spin-off series 'Nävis' (about the youth of the main character), drawn by José Luis Munuera, and 'Les Chroniques de Sillage', with artwork by various artists.
